The 1928-P Peace Silver Dollar is widely recognized as the key date of the entire Peace Dollar series. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, it boasts the lowest mintage of any circulation-strike Peace Dollar, with only 360,649 coins produced. This incredibly low mintage was due to the fulfillment of the Pittman Act requirements earlier in the year, which halted silver dollar production until 1934. Because of its scarcity and historical significance, the 1928 Peace Dollar is highly sought after by collectors and remains a cornerstone issue for any serious numismatic portfolio.

Composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, this classic silver dollar contains approximately 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a radiant crown, designed by Anthony de Francisci, along with the word "LIBERTY," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date "1928." The reverse displays a majestic bald eagle resting on a rock facing right, holding an olive branch, symbolizing peace, beneath the rays of the sun. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "ONE DOLLAR" complete the design.
